Telehealth DUI classes have become the norm due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, many people remain skeptical and concerned about the effectiveness of online DUI classes. In this article, we will discuss some of the differences between DUI classes conducted in person and those conducted through telehealth. At Jackson-Bibby Awareness Group, we offer DUI classes for first-time and multiple offenders. While we have finally resumed our in-person DUI classes, we continue to offer virtual DUI classes through telehealth.

Content and Duration of DUI Classes

Each DUI class duration depends on the DUI school you enroll in, but they tend to last for 2 to 4 hours. For those with repeated DUI convictions, the DUI classes are divided into scheduled phases. For in-person DUI classes, different mediums of teaching will be used over the entire course, such as videos, group sessions, discussions, and presentations. On the other hand, telehealth DUI classes will be more independent and include educational videos, quizzes, zoom sessions, offline reading, revision sessions, and discussions.

Mode of Lessons

As the name suggests, in-person DUI classes are conducted in person and face-to-face. As such, you would have to commute to class and spend more on transport expenses than telehealth DUI classes. While you can save on transport expenses with telehealth DUI classes, you will need to have access to a computer or laptop, as well as access to a stable internet connection, so that you are able to attend your lessons virtually.

Group and Social Settings

The main difference between how in-person and virtual telehealth DUI classes are conducted would be the group and social settings. At in-person DUI classes, you will have the chance to socialize and share your concerns and problems with others who are in a similar position as you. On the other hand, this is absent in telehealth DUI classes, so if you dislike socializing and interacting with others or fear embarrassment, telehealth DUI classes may be a better option for you.
